 What is a  Phishing  Attack?

It is very common cyber attack. Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to deceive users. The goal of this attack is to steal sensitive data , personal details, credit card details, passwords etc.  It is usually performed through email.








How it works?

In this when victim is opening a message or hyperlink  and clicking link then it is trigger.  Hacker create clone of a site as per the interest of a victim. 

I give one of example like, if user's is spend lot of time on Instagram then Hacker create a clone of a Instagram. This clone is look exactly like a Instagram. And send link through email or message when victim open a link Victim thought it's a Instagram account then victim log in account with username and Password . And here the victim is trapped all details are get steal by Hacker.

Email Phishing

This is very common type in Phishing. In this cybercriminals are not target a specific person they are send message and link to millions of people through emails. In Millions , Some  people are click this link , download the files and follow the instructions of these emails.




Spear Phishing

It is advanced technique in phishing. In this attack they targets a specific Organization or Individual  person by sending a spoof email to victims. To stealing the sensitive information.




 Whaling

In this Phishing attack cyber criminal are directly targets high level employees or Individual in an Organization to stealing money, sensitive information and get access on the computer system to perform criminal activities.



 Vishing

Vishing means phishing voice call. This fraud done by a verbal communication technology. In this make a call to victim to obtain sensitive information about a person. Like bank details , PAN card details etc.



Smishing 

Smishing means SMS phishing. In smishing  phishing uses text message deliver to victim to land on the malicious site. This site told to give credit card details. They would sometimes tell you that you've won a cash prize. you want this money then enter the  details of your bank account.





Angler Phishing

This is a new phishing tactic uses social media to attract people 
In this, Scammers monitor people who post about banking and other services on social media. A cybercriminal will use this information to pretend that they are from the bank and then ask details of their  bank account.


CEO Fraud Phishing

It targets CEOs and managers but it gets even more dangerous since the goal is not just to get information from the CEO, but they are act like a CEO on  front of colleagues  and employees, not face to face  but through emails. The attacker, pretending to be the CEO or similar will then email colleagues requesting money through bank transfer or asking to send confidential information immediately.
